Regina Ordowski (Dipl.-Ing. agr.)
During her agronomy studies at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, Regina participated in government-supported research that took her to China for the first time. She was then involved in further research projects and inspection jobs in a number of countries, in the global North and South. When she later joined a large certification body, she was one of the first to implement international organic standard certification for Chinese producers. She has since worked as certifier, trainer, standard manager and coordinator for several organic and sustainability standards, before co-founding SRS in 2017, where she functions as general manager.
Tanja Schmidt (M. Sc. agr., Dipl. oec. troph.)
Tanja holds a degree in nutrition science and home economics from the University of Giessen in Germany as well as a Master of Agricultural Science from the University of Göttingen where she studied tropical and subtropical agriculture. During her studies she gained research experience in Peru. She has more than 15 years professional experience in various sectors of certification and standards management. Her tasks included certification of organic operations, team leadership and training for international organic standards and GLOBALG.A.P. In 2020 she joined the SRS team as quality and competence manager.
Martina Melapie (Dr. agr.)
After successfully completing a degree in tropical/subtropical agronomy at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, Czech Republic, Martina went on to graduate studies in international organic agriculture at the University of Kassel, Germany, giving her a broad background in many forms of agriculture. During her doctoral studies, she focused on nutrient use efficiency in urban gardening of West African cities and later joined the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences of the University of Kassel, where she worked as research assistant and project coordinator for 5 years. Before co-founding SRS in 2017, she joined a certification body, where she was mainly involved in organic certification of Chinese operations according to different standards and contributed to the coordination of the working group. At SRS she is in charge of the Certification Department.
Karin Hellige
With a wealth of experience administrating and managing the services offered by certification bodies, she gained over 10 years working as administrative officer in General Department. Karin is responsible for all administrative issues including bookkeeping and other financial affairs, offer and contracting services, CoI and TC issuance. The maintenance of IT is an additional task. In 2017, she co-founded SRS and assists the General Manager as well as the Certification and Customer Service Department.
Alexandra zum Felde (Dr. agr.)
After studying environmental biology and organic agriculture at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Alexandra specialised in biological pest control during her graduate studies at the University of Bonn in Germany. She has a very broad background in tropical and organic agriculture. She later worked as plantain agronomist at IITA in Nigeria, as lecturer and research assistant at the Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences, University of Kassel and most recently as a freelance agricultural consultant, editor, reviewer and translator. At SRS she works in the Certification Department as an Evaluation Officer.
Eilika Wülfing (Dipl.-Biol.)
Eilika studied microbiology at the University of Göttingen and gained international work experience during two years on a virology research scholarship at the University College Dublin. She then returned to Göttingen to work as a lab technician in a phytopathology working group, before spending two years in Ukraine involved in voluntary community service projects, working with youth and on regional history. Currently, she is strengthening the Certification Department as an Evaluation Officer.
Taku Uchiyama (M. A.-Phil.)
After receiving his B.A. in literature from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, Taku Uchiyama came to Germany to continue his post graduate studies of philosophy at the University of Göttingen. In 2018, he joined the SRS team to support us with offering JAS certification services. He continues using his Japanese language skills to support and work in the Technical Department as well as he assists in the Certification Department.
Jessica N. Andriamparany (Dr. agr.)
After studying plant biology and ecology at the University of Antananarivo, Madagascar, Jessica pursued her education in Germany and graduated in international organic agriculture at the University of Kassel. During her doctoral studies, she conducted interdisciplinary research on the use and cultivation of crops and wild plants in southern Madagascar. After receiving her doctorate, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the universities of Kassel & Göttingen, focusing on organic agriculture and sustainable land use management, then on international project management and crop monitoring technologies, before joining SRS, where she works as an Evaluation Officer in the Certification Department.
Louis Amprako (Dr. agr.)
After obtaining his bachelor degree in agriculture from the University of Ghana, Louis travelled to Germany for a Master’s degree in sustainable agriculture from the University of Göttingen, after which he went to the University of Kassel to complete his doctoral study in agriculture. During this doctoral period, he found interest in nutrient management, food security, biodiversity, and rural-urban food systems. Prior to joining the SRS Evaluation Team, Louis worked on projects that focused on transparency and sustainability in Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Ghana, Mali, and Uganda. In SRS he works in the Certification Department.
Vinny Fuchs (M. Sc.)
Having completed a Bachelor’s degree in food management at the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences and a Master’s degree in food technology University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg, including an internship in food security with a chocolate-producing company, Vinny has been pursuing a career in food security. Since spring 2024, he has been working for SRS, assisting both the Evaluation and the TC Teams.
